Truth Be Told - Tamsin Baker Living in the closet adds stress for the corporate lawyer, Patrick. The past ten years he's been avoiding every woman his family pushes him towards. He yearns to be with a man and he finally finds his match at a bar. Liam is happily out and running a gay nightclub. Their hook up morphs into several months of sexual bliss.

The conflict in this story is altogether too realistic for many men who find themselves trapped by societal views on homosexuality. Ms. Baker does a good job of showing how those who have to hide their personal life or try to keep it separate only end up hurting their loved one. A lot of it has to do with the current trend of vomiting all personal details for every Dick, Tom and Harry to hear - whether they want to or not. The resolution of this conflict is too easy and a bit unrealistic. If only every obstacle is so easy to overcome.

The characters in this story are uncomplicated. They are easy to understand even if their personality are so similar at times it's hard to remember which character was which. Yes, Patrick is the closeted gay guy afraid of revealing to his parents and Liam is secret boyfriend. Other than this, there wasn't really much difference between the two. They enjoyed the same foods and restaurants. Very little is shared about their past.

The kink shows up in the last part of the book. It's barely in the story which is why this is categorized as SugarKink. A little restraint and a bit of ass slapping glossed over is about all the reader receives. Still, the m/m sex is sweet and arousing. This m/m story is recommended to those who love a happily ever after.
