What did I just read? It's erotic in some scenes, but it was really just a confused love lost and a vampire hellbent on revenge for a perceived issue over 500 years ago. Adin is a human who studies old erotica. He's an academia who falls down the rabbit hole when he procures Notturno. He thinks it a 500 year old erotic novel. Instead, it's a personal diary of a man in love with another man.
Donte is a vampire who wrote the journal and he wants it back at all costs. The different players in this book are revealed in a hap-hazardous manner. It's almost as if this story is a stream of consciousness from the author. The story from my perspective wasn't tightly written. Things were just thrown in to "make sense" of the current situation. I felt as disjointed as Adin. I did enjoy the story and really, what I enjoyed most was the sex part. And the violence. Whenever Adin was taken against his will, it was rather erotic and enjoyable for me. This is why it's still a 3 star. This story is for paranormal romance lovers who want to read about a vampire with a broken heart.
