I won this from a giveaway and was excited to read the book. I've been a fan of Ms. Feather for well over a decade. Her romance novels are generally light and fun to read. This one was more like a history book. I did not enjoy it as much as her other books. The characters didn't pull me in. I didn't like Sir Francis and I certainly didn't like his cousin Thomas, Rosamund's brother.
The plot to prove treason and execute Mary was not exactly dull, but it definitely wasn't riveting. This darker side of court life was tedious and petty. I believe that is what Ms. Feather was trying to demonstrate/show. She did a good job of it as it was very tedious and petty. This book should really not be classified as romance. As far as I could tell, there was very little romance.
I recommend this book to those who are history buffs. This may appeal to the ones who enjoy court life and betrayals.
