Eve - Iris Johansen I am mixed with this book. I have been a fan of Eve Duncan's books for a very long time. I also love Ms. Johansen books. I really want to rate this as 2.5 but since I round down, it is showing up as 2. Here is my issue with the book.

1. I no longer like Eve. I started to have issues with her when she started to connect with Manolavo (sic). She was someone I admired because of her devotion to bring justice and closure for murdered children. Her need to find her daughter's killer is admirable. However, she doesn't treat Joe well. She treats him like shit and doesn't show him trust. Her reasons make no sense to me. She's trying to "save him" and prevent him from being hurt. If this is the case, LET HIM GO! Catherine is the better person anyway. Eve can't have a relationship with anyone because her whole dedication is to Bonnie and only Bonnie.

2. I don't like what happened to John Gallo. I like him. I feel so badly for him. I'm riveted to find out what happens in the next book. I want to know.

This book was good at explaining Eve pre-death of her daughter. I did like that part. Still, it didn't offset my disgust with her decisions to exclude friends from helping. Her bad choices caused ramifications that may have been prevented. She's selfish and conceited thinking she knows better. She doesn't. Very annoying. For me, I think it's justification if the person she claims to loves dies because of her stupid decisions. Serves the dumb bitch right.
