Because there is no break to rest for Mat as he's constantly beaten. Is he even going to survive long enough for help in the form of Nate Johnson? Will this FBI agent briefly mentioned previously even know where to look or how to find Mat?

This one is an unrelenting and brutal torture for Mat. Do people really get off on this? I mean, in real life when they do it? I'd like to think not, but I have a feeling I'm wrong. Even though this is fiction and it's not past my hard limits, it's getting closer. I'm definitely not aroused, more cringing to see what will happen to Mat next. I know people are saying Dougie is better but really, I find him still to be an ungrateful snot nosed shit.
