Another fast read from talented Ms. Robb. 3.5 star for me. Ms. Robb excels at murder mysteries. I liked how the killer and reason for killing was constructed in this story. Following along with the clues and using logic to unravel the puzzle is quite stimulating.
This is a sad one as the remains of twelve young girls are found hidden behind walls. Eve figures out the motive and while it isn't a satisfying closure to the case with a perpetrator nailed for killing, it is still a good resolution. It's sad how someone could snap and then what they decide to do afterwards. While I don't condone the killer's actions, I can see how it happened and I pity the killer.
I also pity the girls because this situation is all to real in today's life. There are runaway girls who are forgotten. Those who are lost between the cracks is sad. How do we as a society address these issues? It's a complex problem with no easy answers. It does make me want to do more charity work to help those in need. And this is what I like about Ms. Robb. She writes stores in a future state yet the social problems are current and relevant. Perhaps her stories will touch readers and motivate them to donate time and effort to help those in need. Because money doesn't solve the problem.
