Brain Rules: 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School - John Medina Read through the first 3 chapters and decided to buy the book. Fascinating.

Rule #1: Exercise boosts brain power

I can see this happening. This has encouraged me to workout more regularly again. Perhaps it will help me stick to a 40 hour week. Which means more time to read and do other things. All I need is 2 to 3 times a week of 30 minutes aerobic activity. Strength exercises will help.

I will also need to move around more rather than just sit at my desk for hours on end.

Rule #2: The human brain evolved, too

Symbolic reasoning is a good thing.

Rule #3: Every brain is wired differently

This is an interesting one. Basically smaller classroom sizes for teachers to focus on how a child learn helps them learn better. A combination of teacher and adaptive computer teaching will increase the person's learning. I think this works well and helps me to be a better mentor at work. Different curriculum for different people.
